Introductory Course to Photography 2012

Enrolments are now open for the Rosanna Photographic Club's Introductory Course to Photography 2012.

Rosanna Photographic Club is running a Basic Photography Course for anyone interested in improving their photographic skills and techniques and how to use your camera to its full potential.

The course is conducted by members of the club and guests who are specialists, skilled in all areas of photography. The course is designed to help not only beginners but also those with some knowledge who wish to know more.

The course is made up of ten sessions held over a period of eight weeks with nine classes on Tuesday evenings (7:30 – 9:30) and one on a Saturday. Most of the sessions are held in the Clubrooms at St Pius X Church, 431 Waterdale Road, Heidelberg Heights (Melway Ref 31 F2 or see links on the club website) with field trips for Night Photography (to the city) and General Photography (location TBA). There will also be an optional assignment to be completed at home.

Session 1 Tuesday 13/3/2012

Seeing Pictures - Composition.
Basic Camera Skills - Holding your camera, Tripods, Transfer of files, Maintenance.
Photo Assignment - Photos around the home using composition.

Session 2 Tuesday 20/3/2012

Important Controls on Camera - Shutter, aperture, Exposure, ISO, White Balance, Focus Points, FileType & Size, Histograms..

Session 3 Tuesday 27/3/2012

Exposure & Depth of Field - following on from Session 2.
Lenses - Wide Angle, Telephoto, Macro.

Session 4 Tuesday 3/4/2012

Getting to know Your Camera.

Session 5 Tuesday 17/4/2012

Natural Lighting, Flash, Histograms, White Balance.
Assignment Assessment.

Session 6 Saturday 21/4/2012

Field Trip

Travel Photography.
People, Children, How to take that Photo.
